After many failed attempts to get a Justice League movie off the ground (Justice League are a group of DC Comics Superheroes, Batman, Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman to name a few), Warner Bros are now planning to move forward with it again.
Up until just last week the movie press were being told that Warner were not following the Marvel technique of multiple solo films combining into one ensemble film at the end (The Avengers) but now, according to Warner studio exec Jeff Robinov it is going to happen. The Green Lantern movie is almost finished, Superman: Man of Steel is in pre-production and both Wonder Woman and The Flash movies have scripts in development. But the biggest surprise is that they are planning a total reboot of the Batman franchise almost directly after Christopher Nolans third Batman film, The Dark Knight Rises. The twist? Christopher Nolan himself will produce and have initial creative control of the next incarnation of Batman.
Now at first glance this sounds like a bad move but think about it. Nolan has proved his worth in the Batman world and he shaped Batman into the real world. How must have he been thinking of the possibilities of going down that comic book road a little further, and now with a potential reboot Nolan might use this version of Batman to immerse himself fully into the comic book world. After all it would be incongruent to see The Flash in Nolans world but it would be equally as hard to see Nolans current version of Batman in a Justice League movie, so a change must be on the cards.
The Dark Knight Rises won't even be out in the cinema until summer 2012 and Superman after that so don't expect anything from the Justice League and Batman until 2013 at the very least.
EDIT: Zack Snyder has confirmed that his incarnation of Superman will be independant of the Justice League movie. So we will have three incarnations of Superman in less than ten years.
