One of (if not the) greatest legends in Japanese history is the story of 47 Ronin; a true story of 47 Samurai who swear an oath of revenge against the lord who disgraced their own and forced him to commit ritual suicide. The ronin waited and planned for two years in order to bring their plan to fruition.
Now being brought to life for the modern day era we have Keanu Reeves as a Eurasian soldier drawn known as Kai into the plot by the ronin. Four new cast members have been confirmed Hiroyuki Sanada (Last Samurai, Sunshine) plays the dead lord's master samurai,
Kou Shibasaki (Battle Royale, One Missed Call) is the lord's daughter and love of Kai's, Tadanobu Asano (Ichi the killer, Thor) as the enemy lord and Rinko Kikuchi (Babel) as the enemy lord's right hand aid.
I will definitely see this as i love pretty much the whole cast and would love to see the 47 Ronin story brought to life. As long as Reeves is part of teh ensemble and not way out front like the Last Samurai, which to be fair was excellent but could have been served better b being slightly less of a vehicle for Cruise.
