Some films deserve a remake, some should stay exactly where they are. The remake of The Thing for instance should never happen, and neither should this.
They Live, the awesome Roddy Piper/Keith David alien invasion movie still holds some of the coolest lines and possibly best slug out yet seen on film (the fight is fabled to have been shot for real).
In the original Piper finds a pair of sunglasses that enable him to see alien invaders posing as humans as they try to take over earth from society outwards. He is discovered and becomes a violent freedom fighter.
Oh yeah, and it's awesome. What other film could get away with this line "I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass. And i'm all out of bubblegum" ? YOU TELL ME!
