It seems you can't look at the screening times of any local cinema nowadays without seeing at least one reboot, remake or comic adaptation. They're everywhere and it looks like there is no sign of them stopping either.
Up next for the remake treatment is Stallones Cliffhanger. A solid movie back in the day now probably up for a remake filled with the latest slew of pretty boy actors doing the rounds.
Then there is Fright Night, also up for a remake. Could be something in it but i was never a fan of the original so i can't see what's so good that we need a new one.
Then we have the Italian Job, being filmed for an Indian audience. Yes, seriously.
So, are we doomed for Hollywood and Bollywood to strain over remakes and adaptations when there are tons of brilliant unmade scripts out there right now doing nothing? Are they so afraid of an unrecognised or unknwon project failing???
