After getting initially excited about the Wolverine Origin movie early trailer i'm starting to feel that this movie might be a bit of a wet weekend.
For starters Hugh Jackman personally crusaded (and won) to have the film edited down for a PG13 audience to increase the box office to it's maximum potential for this type of film. Red flags for me straight off at that as the level of violence, blood and carnage will automatically be tamed down to a almost completely non visual level. Okay for a Jim Carrey movie but this is supposed to be the origin story of one of the most animal like and aggresive characters in the X universe (alongside Sabretooth also).
Now i see the new TV spots running all over the web and all i see is Hugh Jackman, not Wolverine, chargin around with his shirt off. Aside from the obvious issue of Jackman not really resembling Wolverine in anything other than hair colour i think that the overall look of this film seems patchy and with a trailer filled with nothing but slo-mo, shouting and explosions i can only feel that any emotional power than might be the original intention might be lost and that this might be just another summer action film that is soon forgotten.
