Crank 2. Awesome. The only word you could use to do it justice in a review.
Crank bolts of out the gates fiercely and hammers on at a relentless pace to the finish line in a path you simply couldn't pick out. In fact the only linear thing in the film is the near indestructible Chev Chelios' implicit desire to get back his stolen heart and he will allow no obstacle to get in his way.
Filled with incredibly inventive sequences from a blazing script that is both pure simplistic genuis and violent, often gut burstingly funny comedy. Crank is exactly what you are expecting, only better. It almost outshines the original and retreads almost none of the ground of the first one, save maybe for bringing back a whole host of faces that fans will enjoy seeing.
Statham is perfect as Chelios and Amy Smart is jaw droppingly hot in it, not to mention funny (and with a bigger role).
And although Crank 2 won't be getting any oscar nods you will be hard pushed to find a more entertaining, violent and funny film this year. Seriously.
Five stars.
