Fox has announced, in a very surprising marketing move, that Wolverine will have more than one ending and that it will depend what cinema chain on which one you end up seeing.
Now, this may sound like fun at first but multiple endings? To me a film is supposed to be an effort of inspiration, focus, effort and above all else, telling the story that some geeky writer envisioned after sitting staring at Final Draft for months on end.
Films shouldn't have optional endings, films shouldn't go through test groups to see what works and what doesn't. If you have to run tests to see if your film is good or not you shouldn't be making films and if you have to resort to releasing multiple endings to the film to get people to go then just how good is it?
This would have been a really good feature on the dvd. You select your ending and watch the movie and at the desired point the film switches angles to show you the other ending.
I dare say more than one fan will visit different chains to see the other endings but i dislike the idea from the get go.
As soon as i get a list of possible endings and where they show i'll post them.
