Uber hot Monica Bellucci has signed on to play the Sorceress Veronica, a long lost love of the lead character Balthazar Blake (played by Nicolas Cage).
The new version is being produced by Bruckheimer and directed by John Turteltaub who's last big efforts were the National Treasure movies. Casting Bellucci is a good move i think, apart from her obvious visual appeal the woman is a great actor and can bring alot to a part. Especially roles that require enigma.
The film was previously adapted in hand drawn animation form by Disney. This version is due out in 2010.
