Obviously this is in the embryonic stages of development but so far we can tell you that after the events of Transformers, Starscream (who was seen exiting Earth's atmosphere during the credits of Transformers) manages to make his way back to Cybertron (which was supposedly destroyed prior to the events to part 1 but may not have been after all) to return to Earth with Decepticon reinforcements. This coupled with autobot leader Optimus Primes call for allies at the end of the movie will no doubt lead to awhole new line of of classic Transformers characters being introduced. Fans of the mythology have voted, stating that the character they would most like to return is Soundwave, Megatron's intelligence officer. With Grimlock, Jetfire and Shockwave following up the poll.
:Shockwave:
With so many characters at their disposal what will Bay and co do whilst writing for the sequel? Obviously too many characters will dilute the mix and cause concern for an inferior film and the lure of jumping straight into a storyline featuring Galvatron and Rodimus Prime may kill of the franchise by confusing a new generation of fans too early. It's also worth noting that the character Shockwave was left in charge of Cybertron by Megatron before he left and that both he and Soundwave are loyal to Megatron (although Shockwave himself vies for leadership at some point) so which direction will they take it Starscream leads them into battle? And what of the mighty Grimlock, surely the second favourite of Transformers fans, we must see him in the sequel. One thing is for sure, Michael Bay has stated that he would take on a Transformers 4, 5 and 6 if the fans showed enough interest.
