With the ever increasing greed of Hollywood stars (Even the so called good guys) It's sickening to hear that people in the industry still seem more desperate to make even greater sums of cash for, lets face it, not very much actual work.
Miss Witherspoon is to make nearly thirty million dollars with her 2009 foray into horror "Our Family Trouble". With stars no longer simply happy to make $20 million+ per movie they now ask for $20 million plus a substantial amount of the box office gross (usually 10 or 20 percent), with dvd sales on top of that. Even so called "Indie" mentalities like Johnny Depp cashed in on the Pirates movies and made over $180 million dollars from legal wranglings. Sure, Stars like Depp can pull in an audience but when are studios going to put their foot down and retake control of their budgets? Spending $250 million on a film like Spiderman 3 is ridiculous.
Lower your budgets and increase your profits by not paying actors silly money, this will lower ticket prices and return people to the cinema once more. Stars don't like it? Make new ones.
