David Fincher has long been tied in with the adaptation of Arthur C Clarke's seminal sci fi novel Rendezvous with Rama (about mans first contact with a gigantic, unmanned alien craft passing through our solar system. But now it looks like the project, which has been stuck in development for a decade is dead, and if not dead certainly comatose.
Morgan Freeman bought the rights with the aim to film it but the budget was at one point huge so time had to pass for effects technology to increase to a level where it could gain funding. Now with Freemans health an issue after his recent car crash and the latest script being ditched David Fincher has given up on filming Rama almost completely.
I find this a shame as the book is stunning and it would be visually spectacular on the big screen.
Someone fund this film!!!
